When I caught wind of Revlon's new ColorStay Moisture Stains, their take on the lipgloss/lipstick/lipstain hybrid, 'excited' couldn't even begin to describe how I felt. With a few exceptions, most notably their ColorStay Ultimate Suede lipsticks that were a complete bust, Revlon's lip products typically hit it out of the ballpark for me in terms of drugstore offerings. By the way, when approaching a display of these bad boys, prepare yourself to be enticed by pretty much every shade. You've been forewarned.
The four shades I have are Barcelona Nights, an ultra-bright strawberry pink; London Posh, a peach with an abundance of golden shimmer; Cannes Crush, an almost-neon coral; and Milan Moment, a persimmon orange. London Posh is the only one of the four I have with shimmer, it doesn't leave much of a stain at all, and it's paler and frostier on my lips than its tube would suggest - not my favorite.
These contain wide and flat doe-foot applicators, similar to the ones seen with the YSL Glossy Stains. They apply and feel like a lip gloss, are basically opaque in one coat, and have a non-sticky, glossy finish. They're much easier to apply than stains with water-based/gel-like textures (no streakiness here), and the color fades evenly, unlike the first generation of drugstore lip stains.
My lips feel plush and hydrated so long as the shine is still around; once it wears off after about 3 hours to unveil the stain, my lips start to feel parched and slightly uncomfortable. Despite this shortcoming in the long-term moisturization department, I still really like these as they look really nice on the lips. I wore Barcelona Nights the other week and received countless compliments. Imagine how many pleasantly surprised looks I got when I told them it was Revlon ;)

If you're on the market for an affordable version of the ever-popular lipgloss/lipstick/lipstain hybrid, these are the best I've tried so far from the drugstore. Barcelona Nights and Cannes Crush are two shades I wouldn't miss out on if I were you!
